I often wonder about this when it comes to news, politics, and to a lesser degree ads.
I was talking with a self-proclaimed religious man a few weeks ago and he was telling me how it was hard to look on the bright side of things when it came to politics and how it seemed like the same thing over and over again and stuff was only getting worse. I ended up telling him to look on the bright side of things and try to get him out of this mood.
However...when it comes to news about the Level 3 Kill Storm of the Snowpocalypse (my browser confirms that's an actual word ) and the bad news about near world ending stuff in the works (which is always happening). As well as how we're all going to have a terrible president in the future and we're all going to die from it, etc., etc. It's no wonder depression runs rampant in the U.S. having one in ten people affected (I'm sure from other issues as well, just using this as an example).
As for me, I'm an optimist, I can often find the bright side of things when other people cannot. I think it's easier to go through life and focus in on the bad things about it and either be indifferent to it or feel down in the dumps because of it. To be an optimist you need to see beyond those things to something better: hope. It's easy to emulate the obvious downers in this world, it's harder to focus in and hang onto the positive. So I thought I'd give you a few positive things to focus on here:

- Is there ground beneath you that holds you up? Good
- Is your Internet working? Did your Computer turn on? Good
- Is your heater/air conditioning working? Good
- Is the universe unimaginably huge and have tons of potential? Check
- Can you find a small universe in a rain droplet? Check
- Is the sky on fire? No? Great
- Is the human capacity for invention and perseverance nearly infinite? Fantastic
- Can you talk to and interact with other humans in your race? Check
- Does our species allow reproduction and continue to thrive? Awesome
- Are you alive and made it through reading this? Thanks...and er good.
There you go, focus on stuff like that, hopefully that will inspire you for a day, 2 days, or possibly a week. Depends how much you focus in on the good parts of it.
Also a shoutout to all you people that have given me 200,000 page views, thanks everyone!

We made it!
If you're reading this you made it! You got through the dumpster fire filled with trip-mines that was 2020! One thing I want to point out to the tired masses during this time is: this is a definite achievement! Whether you've been following quarantine protocol this entire time, took some risks, or made some mistakes, you've still made it past a terrible year. Now...if there's one takeaway I've gotten from this year it's that if you are having a crappy time, stuff is opposing you from all angles, it's important to reward yourself. Why is it important to reward yourself? Well, to tell yourself even subconsciously that there's something better around the corner. That there are better sensations that you can experience. Even if it's a reward that you don't pay for, take some time out to do something you enjoy so you keep yourself a bit optimistic about the future in general. After all, who else is going to reward you? That cat? No no no, that cat is out for themselves and is only going
Please Please Please Vote
Vote for dog, vote for cat, vote for a new boat, vote for whatever you please, please just go out and exercise your right to vote. If you have doubts about whether or not your vote counts or not, well, ask yourself this: Why are there so many reports of people trying to disrupt and influence the outcome of the votes each election year if they didn't matter? Who also disrupts these swing states to go from Republican to Democratic or vise-a-versa? WE DO! If you want more information about how/where/and what color your ballot is try checking here: https://www.betterknowaballot.com/ Also, please keep in mind, while looking up the information for voting here I found that you CAN register to vote and vote in person THE DAY OF the election. So even if your deadline for registering has past, you might have that option as well, so don't count yourself out yet
This virus too shall pass
I know at this point everyone is getting weary in some form or another of this virus happening: social distancing, getting tested, wearing masks (or just starting to wear masks in some places), washing your hands, taking showers, disinfecting everything. Believe me, we all are. However, even with this 'wave 2' being mentioned and such. Everything that has a beginning must have an end. It will pass, things will stop being 'walking on eggshells' as much as it has been. You'll be able to see people again, go out for dinner, go to amusement parks, see movies together; whatever you used to do. In other words, some semblance of normalcy will be achieved. One of the worst things besides the virus itself is the anxiety that comes with the situation that we're dealing with and having it wear on you. However...keep in mind that there are people that deal with crippling anxiety every day. There are people that are purely introverted and will stay at home whenever they can (I can relate
Ruining everything
Well....uh, it was fun while it lasted? It seems that while I was trying and trying to hold off the switch to the new Eclipse mode on here and apparently it was with very good reason? Currently, with this new horrible interface (seriously, who would go to submit in the top right corner above a giant white space near the top to add a journal to a page if they haven't done it before and knew to go there?) they have also taken away all of the birthdays listed on here so I cannot send you guys birthday messages until further notice until they add it back on... This also has gotten rid of the llama trading that I would do on here too which was always fun to participate in. It just gives me an error each time I go to it. Beyond all that and with this insane crisis going on I hope everyone is staying as safe as they can out there. Some good points of advice I have on that is for any masks you're using you might want to add buttons to the side of your glasses if you wear glasses so you can

I try not to watch too much of the news if it can be helped. I try to stay current, but, given that we're in an election period, I wish it was over and that the pit of scumbags called the GOP would drop dead and improve the human gene pool greatly.
